Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children: Radiology Department; Consultant Interventional; Paediatric Radiologist
Applications are invited for a full time consultant post in Paediatric Interventional Radiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. The appointment is a 10 PA post including, routinely, two long clinical days (3 DCCs each day, 12 hour day). The post is divided into 8 PA of direct clinical care and 2 PA of supporting professional activities per week. The post-holder will be expected to participate in an IR on call rotation at a rate not more frequent than 1 in 4. The specialty will consist of 5 consultants, 1 specialist registrar trainee together with 9 radiographers and 14 nurses. You will possess full GMC Registration or evidence of eligibility for full GMC registration (in which case, candidates must be registered with the GMC by the interview date).
Accredited to and fellow of The Royal College of Radiology or equivalent. The individual is expected to have existing core knowledge of interventional radiology and/or diagnostic paediatric radiology, ideally both, although the team recognise this as an ideal opportunity to offer an intensive period of one-to-one training at consultant level in this growing and exciting subspecialty. Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is a postgraduate teaching hospital, linked with the Institute of Child Health (ICH). The Trust has 368 beds and provides a comprehensive range of paediatric specialties for tertiary level care. The patient population consists of over 20,000 inpatients per annum and 84,000 outpatients.
